stuff to know before you talk to me :]
• i may not be able to tell whether something you’ve said is intended to be lighthearted, serious, etc. if you feel that i could misinterpret something you send me, accompany it with a tone tag (ex: /j if you’re joking). don’t worry though, if i don’t understand something i’ll make sure to ask you!
• most of the time, i don’t take things too seriously online. if i sound mean, please assume i’m joking unless i say otherwise! i don’t want people misinterpreting me by accident lol
• i try to stay away from online drama as much as possible, as i don’t like getting into fights with people. if an argument is going on and i’m being quiet, that’s probably why.
• if i ever say something that sounds mean or offensive to you, please know that it was an accident (aka don’t take it personally!! please lol) just tell me what i did wrong and i’ll refrain from doing it again in the future.
• when it comes to people online, i can be pretty sensitive at times, even when i know it’s uncalled for. (ex: being upset over some random discord warning; yes it’s happened) during those moments, just give me time to settle and work stuff out on my own. i’ll be just fine after a day or two most likely!
• i may be quiet at times, whether it’s in periods of chat activity or during vc. don’t worry, i’m perfectly fine and don’t feel excluded- often, i prefer to just watch things play out
• i’m not very good with expressing emotions like sympathy through text. this is basically my way of saying please don’t vent to me!! i’m okay with deep conversations in public spaces, but please don’t hop into my dms and start dumping your trauma. i won’t know how to respond and may end up upsetting you more by accident
• please don’t ask me for personal info! this includes my real name, face reveal, anything else along those lines. i’m not comfortable sharing that information with the public.
• i often have little patience for certain kinds of people (ex: younger kids, trolls, people who consistently toe the line between joking and actually offensive, toxic people). most people won’t have to worry about this, but just so you know :]
